July 19, 2019
Korematsu Families,

I would like to take a moment to announce that I am leaving the Principalship position at Korematsu. Last night, the Williams USD Board approved me as the new Secondary Principal for their Jr./Sr. High School 7th-12th grade. I will be Williams’ new High School Principal in the 2019-2020 school year.

I have enjoyed my 13 year tenure in Davis and have appreciated working with community members at Valley Oak and Korematsu. It was my privilege to serve the students, staff and community members in Davis, and working along your side in the development of our youth.

Thank you for the many years of support, challenge and collaboration. My foundational leadership development was guided by many mentors here in Davis and my relationships with each and everyone of you.

Even though I will miss you all. I am looking forward to this new challenge that will help in my career evolution, and ultimately my goal in leading my own school district one day.

Thank you for the many memories and allowing me to serve your children. It was my honor. I wish you all the best this coming year.

Yours Truly,

Mary L. Ponce, Ed.D. I Principal
