Principal's Weekly Message- October 27, 2023

Special Message from Principal Andrews:

I’m happy to report that I will be back next week, although a little less mobile than usual. I wanted to extend a big thank you for all of the well wishes over the last week. I also am super appreciative to Mr. Knight (Principal substitute) and Ms. Amanda (TOSA) for taking on all of the administrative responsibilities over the last week. I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.

Campus Updates & Reminders:

Don’t forget that our annual Spooktacular is TONIGHT. Costumes are encouraged as students can participate in trick or treating before our community movie in the quad. Please remember that costumes should not contain blood and gore and any weapons must be removed from the costumes.

Parent teacher conferences will be taking place the week of November 13th. All 1st through 6th graders will be dismissed at 12:10 that week. We will offer lunch beginning at 12:10 until 12:30 for any students wishing to eat a school lunch. TK and Kindergarten will operate on their normal schedule. More information about conference week and how to sign up for a meeting with your child’s teacher will be sent out soon.

Our annual Youth Truth Survey opens next week. This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard about how we are doing at Korematsu. I separate message with the link will be sent to all families on Monday.

PTO Message:

Tonight’s Spooktacular is a free event! Join us for trick-or-treating around campus and a movie in the quad. Pizza and popcorn will be for sale.

The annual Jog-a-thon is quickly approaching on 11/8. You should have received an email from 99 pledges to raise donations. Students are getting ready to run, have fun, and support Korematsu! This event helps raise money to continue to support our many enrichment activities.
