Campus Updates & Reminders:
Next week we will be holding our annual Fall Safety Week on campus in compliance with DJUSD protocols. As part of this, teachers will be reviewing and practicing emergency drills with our students. It is important that we practice and explicitly teach our students what to do in case of emergency while in a state of calm in case we ever need to react in a case of emergency. Our staff has been trained by the district on how to appropriately talk to our students about the importance of these drills, while also understanding that it may bring up some feelings of fear and anxiety. If your child is showing any signs of distress due to next week’s Safety Week, please contact their teacher so we can provide additional support.
As part of safety week, the district will also be testing out our communications system on Monday (10/16). Don’t be alarmed if you receive a message on this date as it may just be the communication team testing outreach.

Volunteer opportunities and sign-ups for our upcoming events are now available. If you are interested, please visit http://korematsupto.org/volunteer for more information. Some opportunities include before school scanning for our students who walk/bike, Spooktacular (10/27), and the Jog-a-thon (11/8).

You should have received an email from the company “99 Pledges” for your student to start collecting pledge/donation support for the upcoming Jog-a-Thon.
