Campus Updates & Reminders:

Conference Week is next week. Please make sure that you have a pick-up plan ready for your child as we will be operating on a modified schedule.

  • TK- normal schedule all week
  • Kindergarten - 6th- 8:30-12:10
  • Lunch will be available for all Kindergarten - 6th graders from 12:10-12:30; all students not enrolled in an after school program must be picked up by 12:30
  • SPARK and Catalyst students will be escorted to their programs after their lunch periods

Did you miss picture day? Or maybe your photos didn’t come out quite like you were hoping? Don’t worry! Re-takes are happening this upcoming Wednesday!

 

PTO Message:

Help host lunch potlucks for our teachers & staff during conference week. Monday - soups & salads. Wednesday - chilli. Friday - build a bowl. Bring a dish or an ingredient: Sign-Up.

Book Fair Family Night is Monday, Nov 17, 5:30-7:30 PM. The Book Fair is also open after school all week, 12:10 PM - 3:30 PM M-Th and 12:10 PM - 2 PM Friday. We could use more store volunteers, cookie bakers, and tear-down helpers. Volunteer.

Join the PTO Meeting Wednesday, Nov 19th, 7-8 PM. We will meet in Molly's classroom C-20 and online. There will be no meeting in December. Join the Meeting

 

Social Justice Corner:

Let’s learn about this month’s social justice icons. Next up is Suzan Shown Harjo:

  • Born part of the Cheyenne and Muscogee Nations
  • Has been a strong voice and leader for Native American rights since the 1960s
  • Started the first news program/ radio show in the U.S. for Indigenous people
  • Worked with various groups and the government to protect the religious freedoms for Native people
  • Worked with the government to help Indigenous people gain back their native lands and receive fair payment for the land that was taken from them
  • Led National Congress of American Indians for 5 years
  • Runs Morning Star Institute fighting for the removal of Native American mascots from sports
  • Received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2014
