Campus Updates & Reminders:
Next week, you will be receiving the ballot for School Site Council elections. Candidates have submitted their bios, which will be included on the ballots. As a Korematsu parent/guardian, you vote to elect the person(s) that you feel will best serve on this committee. As a reminder, this committee is a collaboration with staff, parents, and the principal that makes budgetary decisions for the upcoming school year. Ballots will be sent Monday morning and voting will close Friday at 3:30.

PTO Meeting 9/17 @ 7pm - Library or Online. All are welcome to attend. Hear about the year ahead from our PTO President Jessica Mankin and Principal Laura Andrews. Attend in person for a door prize giveaway!
Volunteers Needed! There are lots of fun opportunities to get involved. Scan bikes in the morning, take pictures for Yearbook, or help with the afternoon running club.
Social Justice Corner:
Let’s learn about another social justice icon that we are celebrating for Hispanic Heritage Month: Lin Manuel Miranda!
- Family is from Puerto Rico and Mexico
- Musician known for writing songs for Moana, Encanto, and Hamilton
- Became activist for Puerto Ricans after the island was hit by two major hurricanes; wrote a song that raised $22 million dollars for Puerto Rico
- Also works alongside other activists to end gun violence
- 2015 Smithsonian gave him an award for American Ingenuity Award in History because of the impact of his Broadway play, Hamilton
