
Campus Updates & Reminders:
All current DJUSD students in grades Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade must have a legal parent/guardian complete the “Intent to Return” process online. To complete this, log into the DJUSD Parent Portal and follow the simple instructions below. If you forgot your pin and password, you may select “Forgot your PIN?” or “Forgot Your Password?” links on the ParentPortal login page.
We ask that you complete this process for each child currently enrolled in TK-5th grades no later than Friday, February 13, 2026.

POPS Choir is Back! Open to 4th-6th graders. Our new instructor Kaitlyn will lead choir practice Friday mornings 7:40am-8:10am. Register Now
HERCULES auditions are Monday 1/26 after school. Open to 1st-6th graders. Students practice all week and perform Saturday 1/31 at 11am. Save the date!

Social Justice Corner:
Let’s learn about Mr. Korematsu’s advocacy during and following the Japanese internment:
- After the strike on Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt declared war against Japan
- All Japanese immigrants over the age of 14 were considered “enemies” and forced into internment camps
- Fred refused to go to the camp and was arrested; he remained imprisoned for almost 2 years; his parents spent 3 years in the camp
- Fred lived in Detroit for some time after his release before ultimately moving back to California with his wife and kids.
