Campus Updates & Reminders:
Korematsu’s Cluck Club is raising money for their chicken coop! Next Monday-Wednesday before and after school they will be collecting donations. A $1 donation gets you a Valentine Gram (with a fun surprise!) that will be delivered to classrooms 2/13. Visit the quad to fill out a Valentine Gram for a friend, sibling, teacher, or someone special!

Social Justice Corner:
February is Black History Month! The second social justice hero we are learning about this month is Thurgood Marshall:
- Born July 2, 1908 in Baltimore, Maryland
- Was a lawyer for the NAACP, working for equal rights for Black people
- Biggest victory was Brown vs Board of Education, saying Black and White students are allowed to attend the same schools
- First African American judge on the Supreme Court and served in that position for 24 years
- Earned the nickname “Mr. Civil Rights”
- Has an airport, library, courthouse named after him
- Received the Presidential Medal of freedom
