A few weeks ago, several coyotes were recognized at the DJUSD Board Meeting as recipients for the “Values in Action” award. The next round of nominations are now open! Missoula Theater Parent Volunteer Needed! If you know your students will be participating, can you help as our theater coordinator? We need an adult to be our point of contact and help supervise at the rehearsals and performance. Email us at [email protected]

 

Social Justice Corner:

Let’s learn about our first social justice icon for Middle Easten and Northern African Heritage Month, Zakaria El Hamel:

  • Born and raised in Morocco; father fought for social justice during his youth
  • Human rights activist promoting peace and understanding among diverse communities
  • 2005: founded Youth for Peace and Dialogue Between Cultures to empower young people to embrace tolerance and respect for different cultures and religion
  • Received Pan-African Humanitarian Award and nominations for Public Peace Prize
