Principal Update - March 29, 2022
Posted on 03/29/2022
Dear Korematsu Families,

I hope you all had a restful spring break. I want to update you on our plan for transitioning administrative support at Korematsu Elementary School. As she informed you all on Friday, March 18, Principal Curtaz is resigning from her position with the district. Kerin Kelleher and I have enjoyed working with the Korematsu staff and students the last few weeks, and we are fortunate to be able to arrange a former long-time DJUSD principal to step in and finish the school year.

Heidi Perry will serve as the Interim Korematsu Principal for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year. Ms. Perry most recently led school-site Covid-19 testing in partnership with “Healthy Davis Together” and served as principal at Willett Elementary for 12 years until 2020. Ms. Perry will be on campus part time this week as she hands off some of the testing coordination responsibilities and, beginning on April 4, she will be on campus on a daily basis.

Please join the Korematsu staff in welcoming Ms. Perry and look for a communication from her early next week. If you would like to meet Ms. Perry in person, she will be on campus this Wednesday near the flagpole to say hello after our 1:30 p.m. dismissal.

Sincerely

Matt Duffy - Director of Elementary Education
