Principal's Weekly Message- November 4, 2022

Campus Updates & Reminders:

I am sure that Thursday's incident on campus brought up many feelings and worries for our students and adults alike. I want to again commend the efforts of staff that kept the situation under control and kept our students safe. I am currently working with district personnel to provide our team resources for how to continue to talk with our students about safety and process any feelings they are having.

As another opportunity for a safety reminder, please continue to drive with caution in our parking lot. We have staff stationed at the crosswalk to keep students safe. Several instances of close calls at the crosswalk have occurred over the last few weeks. Please continue to drive at slow speeds and follow the instructions of staff in the crosswalk.

The family portion of the Youth Truth survey is still open. Please take the 10 minutes to fill out this important feedback for our school and district. You can complete the survey at http://www.ytsurvey.org/djusdfamily22.

On behalf of the entire Korematsu team, I wanted to give a big thank you to our PTO and event volunteers. PTO has had a busy week with the Spooktacular and Jog-a-thon. Through the Jog-a-thon efforts, students have fundraised over $27,000.

PTO Message:

Thank you to all family volunteers who spent time assisting with the Jog-a-thon!
