TK/Kindergarten will operate on their normal schedule (including “Wacky Wednesday”)
1st-6th grades will dismiss at 1:35pm every day
If your child is enrolled in SPARK or Catalyst after school programs, they will go to their program after school ends. All other students must be picked up at their appropriate dismissal time.
PTO Message:
We are looking for more girls to join GOTR this Spring at Korematsu Elementary. To allow more time for enrollment, we are now starting the week of March 10 for 3rd-5th grade girls! Practices will be on campus Mondays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:45p and will run for a total of 8 weeks (no GOTR the week of Spring break) ending by May 8.
The Spring Season will feature a new curriculum “Hello Mountain movers!” which makes every participant have a whole new experience this season! The season will end with a celebratory 5K on May 10, 2025 at Land Park with other GOTR groups in the greater Sacramento region. GOTR t-shirt, water bottle, 5k entry, race bib and a finisher’s medal are included in the program registration.
Cost: $185/child. If you need financial assistance to participate, scholarships are available during the registration process.

Volunteering their time as coaches this Spring season, we have two amazing grad students from UC Davis:
Coach Alyssa loves to set and chase big goals! She is currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Chemistry at UC Davis, where she studies land-river-ocean interactions in Arctic regions. When not working on her academic pursuits, you can typically find her outside running or riding her bike for long distances. In the past year, she completed a 50k trail running race (with Coach Limitless Laura), rode 100 miles through the Eastern Sierra, and set a personal record (PR) at the California International Marathon (CIM). She's so excited to serve as a Girls on the Run coach this spring, and hopes to inspire the members of the Fred T. Korematsu team to realize that they can all set and chase big goals too!
Coach Laura is a runner, a rock climber, an outdoor enthusiast, and a scientist pursuing her PhD in atmospheric chemistry at UC Davis. Prior to moving to Davis, Laura spent 161 days hiking the 2,600-mile Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. Laura is an enthusiastic runner, having run her last 50k ultramarathon with Coach Alyssa in 2024. Limitless Laura has helped run after-school science programming at Holy Rosary Catholic School in Winters, has been a guest science teacher at the Davis School for Independent Study, and prior to living in California, worked as an Environmental Educator for the Maine Conservation Corps. Limitless Laura is looking forward to coaching Girls on the Run and Fred T. Korematsu Elementary this spring!
