Principal's Weekly Howler: January 27, 2025

Campus Updates & Reminders:

Earlier this week, you received messaging regarding the DJUSD Intent to Return form. This form must be completed for every student before February 14th. This information is critical as we are making plans for classes and staffing next year. You can complete your student(s)’s intent to return using the link: https://parentportal.djusd.net.

This upcoming week is Fred T. Korematsu’s birthday! With that, our annual celebration is set for Thursday, January 30th. Families are welcome to join in on the fun as we recognize Mr. Korematsu and the “Speak Up” legacy that he has impacted on our society. We will hold assemblies at 8:45 and 9:30; feel free to join either. If you plan on attending, please check in at the front office to get your visitor’s badge.

PTO Message:

Save the date for our annual Korematsu Auction: April 26th! Here are some ways to support the efforts:

  1. Volunteers Needed for our Spring Auction: Event Activity Leads, Picture Back-Drop Builder, Dessert Auction Lead, and Business Donation Helpers. If you're interested, please reach out to [email protected]
  2.  Class Baskets for Auction: Each class is to provide one or two auction baskets by April 14th. Class art projects are not required. Donated items from local businesses are encouraged - your class reps and the auction team will help with business donations. Baskets can include hosted events, gift cards, ticket vouchers, and/or items.
